Governor Dikko Umaru Radda of Katsina State has strongly condemned the recent bandits’ attack in Mairua, Faskari Local Government Area of the state, denouncing it as a heinous act of callousness.
The attack, which took place last Saturday evening during the evening Ramadan prayers, resulted in the tragic loss of two lives and the abduction of two others.
Expressing his condolences, Governor Radda, through the Secretary to the State Government, Barrister Abdullahi Garba Faskari, pledged support for the bereaved families.

He urged residents to pray for the safe return of the deceased’s abducted wife and daughter and for peace to be restored to the region.
The attack claimed the life of Alhaji Lado Mairuwa, a prominent farmer and businessman, who left behind four wives and 26 children.
Additionally, Sani Abdullahi, a neighbor who attempted to assist the deceased, was also killed. Abdullahi is survived by two wives and 20 children.
Tragically, the bandits abducted the deceased’s wife, Hajia Rabi, and his 14-year-old daughter, Maryam, and their whereabouts remain unknown.
During a condolence visit, the deceased’s son, Umar Abdulhamid, who witnessed the attack, recounted that the bandits shot and killed his father after he resisted their attempts to abduct him.
He also confirmed that their neighbor, Sani Abdullahi, who came to their aid, was also fatally shot.
Residents of Mairuwa, while appreciating the governor’s concern and his administration’s efforts in addressing security challenges, pleaded for more decisive action from the Federal Government.
They specifically called for increased security measures in Katsina and neighboring states like Zamfara, which have also been plagued by bandit attacks.
