Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has approved the presentation of staff of office and beaded crowns to two traditional rulers in the state.
The announcement was made via a statement signed by the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Hon. Olusegun Olayiwola.
The traditional rulers set to receive their staff of office and beaded crowns are the Onifiditi of Fiditi, Oba Sikiru Akanni Oyelese, and the Elempe of Tapa, Oba Titilola Oyekanmi Sunday.

Additionally, Governor Makinde approved the appointment of Chief Akindele Sunday Olukayode as the new Baale of Awaye Town in Egbeda Local Government Area of the state.
Furthermore, the governor approved the elevation of 12 Part III (Minor) Chiefs in Oyo Town to Part III Recognised Chieftaincies.
These include the Elepe of Isheke, Onaisokun of Oyoland, Baale Idoode, Baale Gudugbu, Baale Ojongbodu, Baale Akeetan, Baale Apaara, Baale Aguo, Baale Ajagba, Olotefon of Otefon, Baale of Agooja, and the Baale Imeleke of Oyo.
These appointments and elevations are in accordance with the Chiefs Law, Cap. 28 Vol. I, Laws of Oyo State of Nigeria, 2000, under Section 3 (a) and (b), which empower the governor to grant such approvals.
