Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of former Anambra governor, Chukwuemeka Ezeife, stating that Nigeria has lost a significant asset.
In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary and Media Adviser, Mr Oguwike Nwachuku, Governor Uzodimma lauded Ezeife as a “consistent voice for good governance and progressive politics.”
Ezeife, fondly known as Okwadike of Igboukwu, served as the first democratically-elected Governor of Anambra between 1992 and 1993. His demise occurred at the age of 85 on Thursday at the National Hospital, Abuja.

Governor Uzodimma expressed deep condolences, highlighting Ezeife’s commitment to serving both the common man and the high and mighty.
He acknowledged the late elder statesman’s roles as a former governor, Permanent Secretary, and Political Adviser, emphasizing that his legacies will endure.
The governor remarked, “His voice and contributions to issues of good governance in his state, Nigeria, and the society at large cannot be forgotten in a hurry.”
Governor Uzodimma concluded by offering prayers for Ezeife’s peaceful repose and extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family.
