Tragedy struck Odo-Ape community in Kabba-Bunu Local Government Area of Kogi State on Friday as two farmers were brutally killed by suspected kidnappers.
The victims, identified as Mr. Black, a Tiv man, and Sunday Aiyedero, were reportedly attacked while working on their farms.
The incident has left the community in confusion and fear of further attacks by the unknown assailants.

Sources in Odo-Ape confirmed that the killings have sparked widespread unrest, with youths in the community staging a massive protest on Saturday to decry the deteriorating security situation.
The protesters blocked the Odo-Ape to Obajana-Lokoja highway, disrupting vehicular movement for hours.
“It took the intervention of security agencies to clear the road after several hours,” a source revealed.
The protesters called on the government to take immediate action to address the insecurity in their community and ensure justice for the victims.
“We are appealing to the government to stand with the families of the deceased victims, ensuring that justice is served.
The people of Odo-Ape and the wider Kabba-Bunu LGA deserve peace and protection,” a community leader said.

Efforts to reach the Police Public Relations Officer, Kogi Command, SP William Ovye Aya, were unsuccessful, as he did not respond to messages as of the time of filing this report.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of Kabba-Bunu Local Government, Zacchaeus Dare, has vowed to restore peace to the troubled community.
In a statement signed by his media aide, Omofa John, Dare assured residents that the perpetrators of the killings would be brought to justice.
“All those behind the incessant killings in Odo-Ape will not go unpunished,” the statement read.

The lawmaker representing Kogi West in the National Assembly, Senator Sunday Karimi, also condemned the gruesome attacks, assuring the community of enhanced security measures.
Speaking on the incident, Karimi stated, “No stone will be left unturned in securing lives and properties in Kogi West. The killings of my people must stop.”
The senator pledged that the attack on Odo-Ape would be the last of its kind, emphasizing the need for collective action to safeguard the region.
The killings have reignited concerns over rising insecurity in Kogi State, with calls for urgent and effective interventions to protect lives and properties in rural communities.
