Super Eagles legends Sunday Oliseh, Osaze and Mutiu Adepoju have hailed Anthony Joshua after he reclaimed the heavyweight titles in Saudi Arabia.
After getting beat by Andy Ruiz Jr. at Madison Square Gardens in June, Anthony Joshua bounced back to beat the Mexican-American in Saturday’s rematch in a unanimous verdict from the three judges to regain the IBF, IBO, WBO, and WBA heavyweight belts.
Reacting, Oliseh said he is happy with Joshua’s latest achievement and he is grateful to God for it.
His words, “So relieved and pleased to see our Nigerian pride Anthony Joshua regain his title as World Heavyweight champion, defeating Ruiz. Loved his gratitude to God first, after the victory. Boy was I stressed ….”
Mutiu Adepoju also wrote, “Winning is in the DNA of every Nigerian. Congrats.”
Osaze had this to say as well, “Different skillset from AJ. Live and learn. Reacted sensibly( lost some weight and no complacency) Congrats @anthonyfjoshua . Don’t judge a book by its cover @Andy_destroyer1 With God all things are possible. He is a good fighter and very strong mentally.”
