Senate President, Ahmad Lawan has urged top security officials to boost security measures at the National Assembly as soon as possible.
Ahmad said he has gotten reports of security threat to the assembly and everything must be done to prevent any bad occurrence.
According to him, several unknown and uninvited Nigerians will be showing up at the National Assembly complex soon so it is best for the security team to be very well prepared.
He added that Nigerians must unite, work hard and engage with the security agencies to eradicate insecurity in our country once and for all.
His words, âMany unknown and uninvited people came or are coming into the National Assembly complex and we felt we shouldnât take this lightly.
âFrom today, we have to find temporary solution to support the security arrangement here.
âWe will find a more permanent solution by the time the entire environment is remodelled,â
âWe are working hard, we are working round the clock. We have a very active ad hoc committee that is already engaging with the security agencies.
âWe believe now we have to work together if it means the agencies talking to their people who are supposed to work here, they should do so because truly, we are under invasion.
âAnytime you come to the National Assembly, itâs full like market with all manners of people.â
