Manchester United captain, Harry Maguire has come out to say he is currently discussing with the club over whether or not the players have to take a pay cut or defer their wages to reduce the effect of the coronavirus outbreak.
Maguire revealed that he and the club are rubbing minds on the way forward and how the current situation plus its consequences will be monitored.
According to him, a reevaluation is done on a weekly basis to determine what the final decision would be to cope during these trying times.
He added that he hopes the food he recently donated to elderly people around him will provide a small comfort during this hard period.
His words, “First and foremost every club will be different. I’m having weekly discussion with the club about how we want to go forward and how we want to monitor it and that’s as much as we can say on behalf of our club,”
“We keep monitoring the situation weekly, and every week we will evaluate and see where we’re at and see if we need to do anything regarding pay cuts or deferrals. Every club will be different and I’m sure every club captain will be speaking to their club’s with regard to that.”
On the food packages he donated, “My family and I hope that this provides a small comfort to people who might be struggling.”
