The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, has launched a nationwide campaign against cultism and other social vices under the Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices (POCACOV).
The initiative was announced in a statement issued on Sunday by the Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Anietie Okokon Edem Iniedu.
According to the statement, the campaign, which will be implemented across all state police commands, is designed to combat cultism, drug abuse, violent crime and other social vices through grassroots sensitisation, early intervention and community engagement.

The police spokesperson said the initiative would involve partnerships with schools, communities, religious organisations and other critical stakeholders to promote positive values, shield young people from criminal influences and strengthen preventive policing across the country.
He added that the campaign forms part of the Nigeria Police Force’s broader efforts to address the root causes of crime and enhance public safety through community-based policing strategies.
