The embattled National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Chief Olisa Metuh, on Wednesday, April 20, stated that he is being prosecuted for criticising the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Metuh said this through his a witness he brought before the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja, Mr. Ike Abonyi, a media consultant to the PDP.
He said APC came after him as a result of his constructive criticisms against the party after PDP lost the 2015 presidential election.
Abonyi told the court that Metuh pre-empted his arrest, detention and subsequent arraignment.
The witness said Metuh made the statements during a press briefing held before he (Abonyi) was summoned by the Economic Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Abonyi said Metuh was close to resigning as PDP spokesman following family pressures.
Metuh is standing trial alongside a company he has interest, Destra Investment Limited, for allegedly receiving the sum of N400 million (four hundred million naira) from a former National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki.
