The Nigeria Immigration Service in Plateau State said it has arrested non-Nigerians in possession of the Permanent Voter Cards.

The NIS Comptroller in the state, Raymond Jaja, named the suspects as Nnekema Abu from Bukina-Faso, who was picked by immigration officials in Langtang South and Rubaila Ibrahim a Cameroonian, who claimed to be married to a Nigerian but displaced during the attacks in Borno.

Mr. Jaja disclosed this Wednesday in Jos.

The Comptroller stressed “The service has received information that foreigners were conniving with unscrupulous persons in producing security documents that would qualify them in participating in the elections.

“They should know that foreigners are not eligible to participate in any electoral process in Nigeria. The attention of the service have gathered that some foreigners in Plateau possess Permanent Voters Cards and other critical national security documents”.
