A Nigerian Voter casting his vote during an electionThe Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has firmly rejected plans by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to accommodate the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the general elections in Rivers state.

PDP’s recent stance is based on the fact that it is unacceptable and compromising for INEC, through its National Commissioner and Chairman of Information and Voter Education Committee, Festus Okoye, to propose that certain happenings could cause the postponement of election, in Rivers State, to let APC in, which presently do not have candidates in the elections, following the nullyfying of its congresses in the state by the Court.

The PDP has insisted that INEC must perform all of its actions for the elections on the present reality and no condition.

They also said it is vital for INEC to know that Okoye’s statements in favour of the APC is not a good light on INEC’s neutrality and exposes it as a compromised commission.
