Insecurity: FG Has Run Out Of Ideas – APC Govs

APC CHIEFTAINSComing on the heels of yesterday’s bomb blast in Nyanya, which left no fewer than 71 persons dead and over 124 others injured, the All Progressives Congress, APC governors reviewed the security situation in the country and concluded that the Federal Government had run out of ideas on how best to checkmate terrorists and other criminals.

The governors, under the aegis of Progressive Governors Forum, PGF, while commiserating with families of victims of the blast, regretted that the death of innocent Nigerians had become a daily occurrence with little respite.

The statement, which was released by the Chairman of the Forum and governor of Imo State, Owelle Rochas Okorocha, noted with concern that no fewer than 1000 innocent Nigerians had been killed in the last two weeks.

The PGF also commiserated with the parents and families of the candidates, who were killed while trying to sit for the JAMB examinations in Maiduguri, Borno State, weekend.

The PGF said the tragic deaths indicated a major failure on the part of the Federal Government.

The PGF said: “As if failing to tackle the Boko Haram insurgency is not bad enough, the security situation has deteriorated to a level where so-called gunmen are now on the rampage across Nigeria, killing and maiming at will with no response from our poorly equipped and informed security operatives.

“Is it too much for government to, at the very least, identify the perpetrators of these terrible crimes?”
