In a commendable display of relentless efforts, the troops of the Joint Task Force North West Operation Hadarain Daji (OPHD) have successfully rescued 13 kidnapped victims from Maru Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
The operation, aimed at continuous clearance and offensive actions against criminal elements, also led to the arrest of 11 suspected logistics suppliers associated with a notorious terrorist kingpin in the state.
A statement issued by Captain Ibrahim Yahaya, the spokesman for OPHD, outlined the details of the successful mission.

“On December 17, 2023, the combined troops of OPHD conducted a search-and-rescue operation in the Gobirawan Chali and Dangulbi areas of the Dansadau axis in Maru Local Government Area,” the statement read.
During the operation, the troops successfully rescued 13 victims who had been abandoned by fleeing terrorists.
The rescued victims, hailing from Mutunji village of Dansadau Emirate, are currently receiving medical treatment and undergoing debriefing.
Plans are underway to reunite them with their families through the representation of the Zamfara State Government.
Additionally, the troops cleared a notorious terrorists’ hideout at Gidan Jaja in Zurmi Local Government Area, demonstrating the force’s commitment to eliminating criminal elements in the region.
Furthermore, OPHD successfully apprehended 11 suspected terrorists’ logistics suppliers who were transporting 127 bags of grains in two Canter trucks linked to the notorious terrorist, Halilu Sububu, at Kwanar Boko in Zurmi Local Government Area.
The arrested suspects are currently undergoing preliminary interrogation as part of ongoing efforts to dismantle criminal networks and enhance the security landscape in Zamfara State.
