    Jose Mourinho Congratulates Claudio Ranieri

Jose MourinhoJose Mourinho has congratulated Claudio Ranieri and Leicester on their Premier League title triumph.

The Foxes were confirmed as English champions for the first time in their history on Monday night after closest challengers Tottenham Hotspur could only draw 2-2 with Chelsea.

Mourinho guided Chelsea to the Premier League title last season, before a disastrous start to the current campaign led to him departing Stamford Bridge.

However, the Portuguese said he is delighted that Ranieri — the man he replaced as Chelsea boss at the start of his first spell with the club in 2004 — has taken the crown.

“I want to congratulate everyone connected to Leicester; players, staff, owners and fans,” Mourinho is quoted by the Daily Mirror as telling CAA Sports.

“I lost my title to Claudio Ranieri and it is with incredible emotion that I live this magic moment in his career.”

Leicester will be presented the Premier League trophy in front of their fans at the King Power Stadium on Saturday after their game against Everton.
