The Kaduna State House of Assembly has approved a supplementary budget of N207.2 billion for the 2024 fiscal year.
This approval followed the adoption of a report presented by the Chairman of the House Committee on Appropriation and Implementation, Yunusa Shehu.
Shehu noted that the supplementary budget includes N40.9 billion for recurrent expenditure and N166.3 billion for capital projects.
He explained that the additional budgetary allocation would allow the state government to continue implementing key development projects across the state.
The chairman also highlighted that the supplementary budget would ensure the timely payment of the new national minimum wage to state workers by the end of November.
Additionally, the Assembly considered two significant bills during the session.
One bill seeks to establish the College of Agricultural Technology in Samaru Kataf, while the other aims to ensure women’s representation in both public and private offices. Both bills passed their second reading.
The Speaker, Yusuf Dahiru, referred the bills to the relevant committees, instructing them to submit their reports to the House by November 19.
