Borno State Governor Kashim Shettima has gathered an emergency security meeting to tackle growing Boko Haram attacks in the state.
Special Assistant to the governor on Media and Communication Strategy, Mallam Isa Gusau, disclosed this recently.
“The governor has summoned an emergency extraordinary security meeting to be attended by heads of security establishments, Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), hunters, traditional rulers, elders, senators, House of Representatives members and 28 members of the state House of Assembly,” he said.
He said the meeting would hold on Monday, December 31; 2018 at Government House, Maiduguri.
“Also summoned to the meeting are, selected local council chairmen and commissioners from the areas affected by recent attacks; management of the University of Maiduguri and selected tertiary institutions.
“Others are, chairmen of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ), National Council of Women Societies (NCWS) and the Nigerian Legion,” the statement added.
Gusau said Shettima convened the meeting as part of an instant response to the resurgence of Boko Haram attacks in parts of the state.
