The Lagos State Government (LASG) has said that all needed impetus is being put in place to improve service delivery in the 20 Local Government and 37 Local Council Development Areas in the State and transmute from the age-long analogue mode of operation to digital and technologically-driven mode of operations.

Mr. Rotinwa said that there is a need for the people at the grassroots to be carried along in the implementation of the vision of the State Government in order to metamorphize from a mega city to a Smart City where everything works.
He maintained that the steady progress achieved by the State Government so far can be attributed to the implementation of service-oriented policies, stressing that there is need to consolidate on the State’s past achievements especially at the local government level.
The Chairman said that the State Government will not rest on its oars in the delivery of effective services and will intensify efforts to achieve a more productive output for its publics.
He urged the participants to improve on professionalism in their respective activities as the move to digitize service delivery will bring about some changes in the skills and attitudes of State Government staff, especially those at the grassroots.
The Chairman said, “the pace and speed at which the present administration is moving, demand that the output of its workforce be periodically assessed to sustain and increase the delivery of quality service to the residents of this State”.
While appreciating the Governor Ambode, for paying special attention to the grassroots, Rotinwa noted that more local government staff will benefit from capacity building both locally and internationally as a way of rejuvenating the LG/LCDAs from analog to digital service delivery.
He said that the knowledge and skills of Staff at the local government level need to be updated and also need to be exposed to best practices in management in order to prepare them not only to cope with the demands of today’s environment but also face the unpredictable future.
On her part, the Permanent Secretary, Local Government Service Commission, Mrs. Omobolanle Ogunmola, said that the Retreat was organized to collectively identify likely challenges and proffer solutions to the realization of the Smart City initiative of the grassroots.
