Leaked Audio Recording: We’ve Been Vindicated On Ekiti Election – APC

APC-FayoseThe Ekiti State chapter of All Progressives Congress, APC, has decried how the presidency allegedly planned and executed the June 21, 2014, governorship election fraud in Ekiti State in favour of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, using the military.

The APC said in what looked like a movie, Ayo Fayose won all the 16 local governments in the election, leaving tongues wagging on how a performing incumbent Governor Kayode Fayemi got none.

In a statement by the state publicity secretary, Taiwo Olatunbosun, the party said it was vindicated by its claim that photochromic ballot papers were used to fix elections in the state, stressing that it was shocking that principal actors ‎did not hide their evil plot as they spoke freely of an elaborate rigging without knowing that they were being recorded.

“It was shocking that one of the participants spoke of how he must deliver on the assignment. The fellow said ‘I am not for a tea party but to deliver on the president’s assignment’.

“Another voice said he had been governor in the last 12 years and should not be toyed with. The voice blamed a Major General who was also heard defending himself,‎of not cooperating in the assignment. The voice said the Major General nearly sabotaged him in using the soft copy of INEC papers and computers given to him to ease the assignment”, Olatunbosun explained.

According to the APC spokesman, other details in the tape released by SaharaReporters include plots to arrest opposition leaders, particularly Bimbo Daramola, and deploy soldiers to strategic locations where vehicles specially marked for the operation could move to locations of their assignments without being checked by security agencies.

“It was shocking hearing the voice of a Major General in the army begging ‘Mr Governor’ and pledging loyalty to deliver on the assignment.

“Others voice also said: ‘Major General, you know that if you make me happy by this time tomorrow, the sky is your limit in the Nigerian Army. You know that I sit in the Army Council where your promotion is determined. Make me happy and I will make you happy too’”, he said.

Olatunbosun added that Ekiti people could now understand why Fayose always spoke about over-bloated debts owed by Fayemi while also denying ever collecting N22billion refunds he collected from the federal government, including the N2billion Ecological Fund he denied collecting before he owned up when APC sought Freedom of Information law to get the details of the payment.
