Liverpool striker Luis Suarez believes Liverpool are playing at the level of Champions League football.
.
The Reds are fourth in the Premier League, and are unbeaten so far this calendar year.
.
The men from Merseyside are free scoring of late, and Suarez has scored 22 goals in his last 16 appearances, making him the league’s top goalscorer.
.
Liverpool have been playing well all season, and are still in with a shout of winning the title.
.
According to Herald.ie Suarez said: “We know that in the last two years we haven’t demonstrated that Liverpool can play in the Champions League.
.
“Now we are playing very well and we have the level to play in the Champions League. We have really good players and if we continue at this level, we can do it.”
.
Liverpool haven’t featured in the Champions League since 2009, and the Uruguayan admits the Reds haven’t been at the best in the last couple of years.
.
Suarez said: “In the last two or three years we have not played very well and not demonstrated our level. Now we are back to that.
.
“You work hard for the supporters and the people.” Suarez has been in the headlines a lot in the past, but recently it has been for all the right reasons as he is scoring at will and seems to be really enjoying his football under Brendan Rodgers.
.
Liverpool will face fierce opposition to make it into the Champions League though, with Manchester United on the rise, Tottenham, and outsiders Everton, all hunting for a place.
