Magellan's Echo Fit Smart Sports Watch to Be Featured at PGA Merchandise Show

The Echo Fit is the latest addition to the company’s Echo Series of smart sports watches that utilize smartphone apps to their full potential by wirelessly sending real-time app data to the user’s wrist; serves as a remote control for apps and music; and is an activity tracker. Echo Fit’s light weight and long battery life make it perfect for golfers who want to track their performance data on their wrist with their smartphone safely tucked away and conserving power.

Golf Pad App Integration
The Magellan Echo and Golf Pad app work in perfect sync for every shot, with information available for more than 30,000 courses worldwide. Through Echo’s use of embedded Bluetooth^® Smart to connect to a smartphone, users can simply look at their wrist and at a glance know the yardage to the green, keep track of their score, including any penalties, and capture and analyze the exact distance of every shot, tee to cup. Users can also instantly share a great round with friends online. Other key features for golfers include:

Smartphone Extension
Echo Fit is an extension of a smartphone, simultaneously displaying sports data, notifications, and achievements that are normally shown on the smartphone display. Each third party app has been optimized for Echo Fit; ensuring users have the best experience no matter which app they choose.

Along with the release of the Magellan Active App in Q1, Echo Fit will have the capability to display notifications of incoming text, phone calls, and emails when paired with a smartphone. Third party app (e.g., Facebook, Skype, etc.) notifications will also be visible, allowing users to stay connected, without interrupting the flow of the game. Once the Magellan Active app has been synced to the Echo Fit, users can wirelessly receive and store the activity and sleep data that has been collected. Data can then be uploaded to Magellan’s Active website and shared. 

Echo Fit users can view the time, all of their steps, distance covered, calories burned, and sleep activities along with a seven-day rolling average, right on their wrist. For step tracking, there is an alert notification that sounds when the daily goal is met.

Compatible Apps
Whether it’s golf, running, hiking, cycling, or other sports activities, Echo Fit’s deep integration with apps makes it customizable to meet the unique needs of each user. In addition to Golf Pad, additional compatible apps include: MapMyFitness (and their family of apps), RunKeeper, Strava iMobileIntervals, Wahoo Fitness, AllTrails, iSmoothRun Pro, Jog Note, WeiBike and Men’s Health Personal Fitness Trainer. More are being added on a regular basis. (Not all apps are available for Android smartphones.)
