Gab JesMourinho’s side have also tabled a £15m bid for Palmeiras’ highly rated young striker Gabriel Jesus, O Estado de Sao Paulo reports (via the Express), but face competition from rivals Manchester City for the 19-year-old.

The Red Devils’ offer falls short of City’s £16.7m offer, though Pep Guardiola’s side are not part of an exclusive group of European giants who can acquire the striker for a reduced fee, according to the Brazilian outlet.

Barcelona, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester United are eligible to activate Gabriel’s £16.7m release clause. City, though, and any other club, will have to pay £27.4m to bypass negotiations with the Sao Paulo giants.
