    Min. Pledges Continued Efficient, Quick Administration of Justice

    The Ministry of Justice in Ogun State has affirmed that it would continually take steps to ensure quick, effective and efficient administration of justice in the State.
     
    The State’s Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Mrs. Abimbola Akeredolu gave this assurance in Abeokuta while defending the Ministry’s N984.196m 2014 budget proposal before members of the State House of Assembly.
     
    Giving a breakdown of the expenditure, Akeredolu pointed out that N784.2m would be spent on recurrent expenditure with personnel costs gulping N604m, while N180m would be expended on overhead costs.
     
    On proposed capital expenditure, the Commissioner disclosed that N200m was being proposed, stating that major capital projects include purchase of vehicles for transporting Law Officers to courts, review as well as re-print of the State Laws.
     
    In the same vein, Secretary, Judicial Service Commission in the State, Mr. Kolawole Peters made a presentation of N191.25m as the Commission’s estimated budget for the coming year, giving the breakdown to be N111.25m for recurrent expenditure, while N80m was planned to take care of capital projects in the coming year.
