Ilerioluwa Olademeji Aloba, better known by his stage name Mohbad, passed away in suspicious circumstances on September 12, 2023, and Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State has announced that he has summoned the Department of State Services, DSS, to participate in the investigation of his death.
According to Infostride News, authorities are looking into the singer’s death.
In a recent message posted to Instagram, Governor Sanwo-Olu claimed he has also invited the DSS to join with the police in their probe.
This is to inform everyone that I have not been in the dark about the passing of Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Imole Aloba (Mohbad),” the message said in part. We’ve been collaborating secretly with the proper authorities and keeping a close eye on the ongoing probes.
To that end, I have sent an invitation to the Department of State Services (DSS) to join the investigation, which will allow for greater cooperation across agencies and the application of cutting-edge technology to more thoroughly uncover the truth.
To paraphrase my order: “I have instructed that all those who may have played any role or whatsoever in any event leading to the death of Mohbad be made to face the law after a thorough investigation.”
While expressing his condolences to the deceased’s loved ones, the Governor also made an impassioned call for any witnesses or anybody else with knowledge to come forward and help the inquiry.
He guaranteed complete safety for any witnesses “who may come forward with vital information or indicative evidence that may assist the process.”
Additionally, he stated that the “Police and DSS have been admonished to brief the public on their efforts periodically.”
