The mobile giant network, Bherti Airtel, has introduced cross-border money plan. The plan was introduced to ease the burden of money transfer among already-on-list Africa.
Where is that happening
The new cross-border money plan was introduced in another West Africa country. Niger will join three other African countries – the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Zambia and Rwanda – where Airtel Money customers can transfer cash, facilitate remittances and affordably conduct regional trade through a distribution network.
How does this work
Mobile money customers will have privilege of coordinating their transaction through the mobile money network service. Customers coming from Benin, Ivory Coast, and Ghana will be able to transfer money to another Airtel or MTN users.
Still on the matter
Reinstating the company’s point on the new development, Airtel Africa Chief Executive Officer, Christian de Faria said: “This offering will raise the level of convenience in cross-border payments across the four countries with a wide Airtel Money agency network and a highly competitive fee structure. This will facilitate remittances and trade across the region.”
