A source from the presidency has revealed that President Buhari will hand-over some aircrafts in presidential fleet on Monday, October 10, 2016, to the Nigerian Air Force.
According to Punch, the source said “I can confirm to you that based on the directive of the president, the commander of the Presidential Air Fleet will hand over some aircraft in the fleet to the Nigeria Air Force on Monday. The handover ceremony will be open to members of the public. President Buhari may be represented at the event by the minister of defence. It will hold at about midday on Monday.”
The hand-over ceremony is slated to hold at the Presidential Wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.
The Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu recently confirmed the placement of ads in the dailies for the sale of two presidential aircrafts – Falcon 7x Executive jet and Hawker 4000.
Some political commentators are of the opinion that the revelations by former Governor Peter Obi at a program – The Platform 2016, inspired the government to take this decision.
