Senator Dave Umahi of Ebonyi South claims that he was only nominated to serve as a minister by President Bola Tinubu because of his connections to the president.
According to NAN, Umahi said he had no idea what the ministry to superintendent entailed, but vowed to work hard to live up to the trust placed in him.
In Abakaliki, he addressed reporters after meeting with Ebonyi State Governor Francis Nwifuru.
For “fulfilling his promise during the trying period,” the former governor expressed his deep gratitude to President Tinubu.
“My governor (Nwifuru) should be happy because he wished for it,” Umahi said of the situation.
I will collaborate with the president to see that his campaign pledges are fulfilled.
I will defend the resourcefulness and uniqueness that are hallmarks of the Ebonyi personality, but I have no say over which ministry I will lead.
