Newcastle defender, Kieran Trippier has come out to say that his own standards have dropped this season. He recently had his say after an error-strewn December following Newcastle United’s 3-1 loss to Nottingham Forest, and fans have been reacting.
According to him, it has been a very tough couple of weeks for the entire team, and it is clear that his own performances have been far from his regular standard since he joined the club.

Trippier added that he has had a lot of setbacks in his career, so he would surely overcome this as well.
His words, “It’s been a challenge for the team going from not playing in Europe playing three-game weeks some players are new to that. Sometimes when you don’t mean it like myself – my standards have dropped – I’m old enough and experienced to talk about my own performances and know they’re nowhere near as good as the standards I’ve set recently. I don’t shy about it, I’ve had a lot of setbacks in my career and this is another one where I need to keep going and believing and I’ve always got that belief to bounce back.”
WOW.
