The Nasarawa State Government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Ukraine Stroy Aryans Construction Company Ltd for the completion of the abandoned Fari Ruwa Independent Hydro-electricity power Project.
Speaking in Lafia during the signing ceremony, Governor Umaru Al-makura said the signing of the MOU between the two parties was aimed at completing the Power Project with a view to enabling the State have sufficient power as well as to boost economic activities and to create job opportunities among others.
He assured that work would soon commence pointing out that the project was captured in the 2014 budget. The Governor further informed that the Project will be facilitated by the Company and which will hand over to the State Government after aa period of 20 years.
The Nasarawa State Governor therefore urged the people of the state to support him towards completing the project.
On his part, the Managing Director of Ukraine Stroy Aryans Construction Company Ltd, Mr. Vasyl Pastushyna who signed on behalf of the company pledged his commitment to the project.
The delegates of the Company later visited Lily water works in Lafia with Governor Al-makura and other top Government officials to see if they could intervene in expanding the Dam for improved water supply in the state.
