What would have been another blow to the ongoing National Conference in Abuja was averted when a delegate, Amb. Abubakar Abdulmumuni, on Tuesday slumped and was rushed to an undisclosed hospital in Abuja for proper medical attention.
Mr. Abdulmumuni, who is a retired Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG), was granting interview to reporters after the plenary session of the Conference a few minutes after 6 p.m., when he suddenly collapsed.
He was immediately attended to by medical personnel, who tried to revive him with First Aid.
When it was discovered that the First Aid was not working, the retired AIG was taken away in a police ambulance for proper medical attention at an undisclosed hospital.
Information Nigeria reports that this is the second time a delegate has collapsed in the last one week, after a delegate of the Market Women Association, Ifeyinwa Ezenwa, slumped shortly after the Conference resumed for the afternoon session.
It would be recalled that a delegate, Mamman Misau, also a retired AIG representing Association of Retired Police Officers of Nigeria, ARPON, died during the first week of the Conference.
