Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have arrested a Lekki-based businessman, Arokodare Damil Ebenezer, the proprietor of Damillionz Takeout, for his alleged involvement in the importation of 60 parcels of Loud, a potent strain of cannabis, from the United States to Nigeria.
The 43-year-old suspect was apprehended on Monday at Bay Lounge, Admiralty Way, Lekki, where he was expecting to receive the latest drug consignment.
This was disclosed in a statement by Femi Babafemi, Director, Media & Advocacy, NDLEA Headquarters, Abuja.

Babafemi stated that the suspect’s cargo, which arrived in seven large cartons at a logistics company in Lagos on March 12, 2025, was seized by NDLEA operatives of the Directorate of Operations and General Investigation (DOGI).
During a search of Ebenezer’s Lekki residence, NDLEA officers recovered 94 grams of Loud, a cannabis crusher, and other drug paraphernalia, bringing the total weight of the confiscated drugs to 32.24 kilograms. The suspect reportedly confessed to starting his drug business in 2017.
NDLEA Thwarts Attempt to Export Tramadol to Italy
In a related development, NDLEA officers at Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Ikeja, Lagos, intercepted an attempt by Omoruyi Terry to smuggle 1,400 pills of tramadol 225mg, weighing 800 grams, to Italy via Qatar Airways.
Omoruyi, described as a frequent traveler and logistics agent based in Italy, was apprehended at the screening point of Terminal 2 before boarding his flight.
Massive Drug Seizures Across States
Babafemi also announced multiple drug busts across several states:
- Katsina State:
- Four suspects, Baraka Abubakar (40), Haruna Alitine (23), Muhammad Babangida (20), and Hamisu Lawal, were arrested on March 28 in Daura LGA with:
- 684 blocks of compressed skunk (423kg).
- 86,000 pills of diazepam.
- The three male suspects were caught repackaging diazepam, while Baraka was found with heaps of skunk in her house.
- Four suspects, Baraka Abubakar (40), Haruna Alitine (23), Muhammad Babangida (20), and Hamisu Lawal, were arrested on March 28 in Daura LGA with:
- Edo State:
- NDLEA operatives destroyed 13,198kg of cannabis sativa in multiple forests across the state between March 24-28.
- 158kg of cannabis was evacuated for possible prosecution.
- The affected locations include Uhen forest (Ovia North East LGA), Sobe (Owan West LGA), and Amahor forest (Igueben LGA).
- Niger State:
- On March 28, NDLEA operatives intercepted a Toyota Corolla (SLM 137 SV) on Mokwa-Jebba road, arresting Paul Christopher (46) and Lucky Star Anumie with 77.6kg of skunk hidden in a false bottom.
- On March 29, 50kg of skunk was recovered from the home of a fleeing suspect, Isa Iliya, in Wawa village, Borgu LGA.
- Other Seizures:
- Enugu State: 108.5kg of skunk was seized at Aria New Market, Enugu metropolis (March 25).
- Kwara State: 25kg of cannabis was confiscated from Abdulrazak Saka in Kilako, Ilorin (March 24).
- Oyo State: Suli Saheed (50) was caught with 2.5kg of Ghanaian Loud and 515 grams of Colorado at Olomi Academy, Ibadan.

Reacting to the arrests and seizures, NDLEA Chairman/CEO, Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (Rtd), applauded the efforts of operatives across MMIA, DOGI, Edo, Kwara, Niger, Enugu, Oyo, and Katsina commands, reiterating the agency’s commitment to tackling drug trafficking nationwide.
