The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Kano State Command, has intensified its crackdown on drug-related activities with fresh raids across the Kano metropolis.
In an operation carried out on January 30, 2025, NDLEA operatives stormed known drug hotspots in Fagge, Kwarin Kaya, Kofar Wambai, and Kofar Mata, leading to the arrest of 18 suspects involved in various drug offenses.
Seizures and Resistance During the Raid

According to a statement by the Public Relations Officer of the Kano State Command, Assistant Superintendent of Narcotics Sadiq Muhammad Maigatari, officers recovered significant quantities of illicit substances, including Cannabis Sativa and Rubber Solution.
Additionally, locally fabricated dangerous weapons were seized during the operation.
The raid in Kwarin Kaya posed a challenge as some suspects attempted to intimidate law enforcement from a distance.
However, NDLEA operatives remained resolute, ensuring the operation was successfully executed.
NDLEA Reaffirms Commitment to Drug War
The Kano State NDLEA Commander, CN AI Ahmad, reiterated the agency’s dedication to dismantling drug syndicates and curbing drug abuse across the state.
The agency has also reaffirmed its commitment to prosecuting offenders while strengthening efforts to safeguard communities from the dangers of illicit substances.
