HOUSTON, TX–(Marketwired – January 02, 2014) – Dynamic Health Strategies announces the launch of its “Let’s Talk Data” webinar series beginning January 31, 2014 at 11am CST with “Discriminating Benchmarks in Population Health.” The five webinars pinpoint data complexities, methods, and pitfalls associated with data analysis. Large, self-funded employers are facing problems with increasing healthcare costs and have the need to better understand the data to help make decisions that will improve quality of care and their bottom line.
The webinars are targeted to HR and benefit executive management and data analysts of self-funded employers or benefit consulting firms. Topics for the remainder of the series include: Probability and Uncertainty: The Principles of Risk, Disease Management Data and ROI, Wellness Programs, and Legal Issues in Health Plan Data. Participants will develop critical interpretative and analytical skills that can be applied to performance and quality assessments of group health plan metrics.
The first webinar in the “Let’s Talk Data” series, titled “Discriminating Benchmarks in Population Health,” will review the many approaches to benchmarking and proposes a best practice that is not commonly applied. Data analysis in group health plans focuses on a distinct population covered by that health plan. Population characteristics differ among groups, and as such the population health metrics should be expected to also differ. Using benchmarks as comparative points among diverse groups poses interesting challenges that require segmentation and adjustments.
Trudy Krause, DrPH, MBA, CPHQ and Vice President of DHS, will be the presenter for the webinar. Dr. Krause has extensive experience in the healthcare industry, from hospital administration, direct patient care, rehabilitation program design, employee assistance management, and outcomes research. Registration for the educational webinar can be found at http://www.dhsgroup.com/news-events/events.
