Zakaria Jikantoro resigned as state chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Niger State.
On Friday, Jikantoro held a press conference in which he explained his decision to retire.
He added that he made the decision to retire on his own accord.
To brief the state executive on the outcome of yesterday’s meeting, it is imperative that I and others call an emergency meeting.
“Secondly, I intend to voluntarily step down as chairman of the APC in Niger State, a post which I have held with much honor and humility.
For this reason, I’ve extended an invitation to members of the press to attend and report on the meeting, he explained.
