“If there’s anyone to blame for your present condition, its never the man who sat in the seat you now seat. Its always the man in the mirror!” Ben Murray Bruce wrote on Twitter in reaction to several criticisms of ex-President Goodluck Jonathan who is being blamed by the ruling party, the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the state of the country.

Murray-Bruce reminded those attributing the state of things to the former president that “By blaming Jonathan for all Nigeria’s problems, his enemies make him the main issue in Nigerian politics which is good for him not for them”.

“If every new administration wastes its honeymoon period demonizing its predecessor Nigeria will find it difficult to fulfill its potential,” he wrote.
