Chairman of the Presidential Advisory Committee on Corruption, Prof. Itse Sagay, has said that no one will be spared in the anti-graft war.
Speaking exclusively to Vanguard, weekend, at the annual meeting of Government College, Ughelli, Old Boys Association, Lagos branch, Sagay said that the present government not only has the political will to prosecute the war but that it is also “blind” regarding those who will be prosecuted.
“The whole struggle is a blind one. It does not look to the left or right, but goes straight to the subject matter regardless of who is involved.”
“No time frame has been fixed so far, we will just carry on until we are told to stop. There is no time frame. The present government has the political will. You can see that the President is very determined, so there is no danger in that regard.
“I would not state the details or terms of reference but I can summarise it and simply say that what it involves is to provide support of the anti-corruption agencies and also intensively intervene in the whole process of the anti-corruption war. It is also to ensure that the administration of justice is effective and that all cases of corruption are prosecuted efficiently and as successfully as possible. In other words, we are to ensure that the anti-corruption war is successfully executed at all levels,” Sagay said.
