IfeanyiGovernor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State has appealed to the Federal Government to establish more of its agencies in the state to meet the yearnings of the people.
Ugwuanyi made the appeal on Wednesday when the Association of Heads of Federal Establishments in the state paid him a courtesy visit at the Government House, Enugu.
He said his administration would support any policy of the Federal Government that would impact on residents of the state.
The governor called for a closer collaboration and interface between the state and Federal Government, adding that such was needed to enhance service delivery.
Ugwuanyi said his administration was not unmindful of the contributions of federal agencies in the state, which he said, contributed to the ranking of Enugu as one of the 100 most resilient cities in the world.
“The needs of our people from the Federal Government are ever increasing and I appeal to you to make sure that your services are easily made available to them”, Ugwuanyi said.
Earlier, the leader of the delegation, Mr Ngozi Uchella, said that they were at the Government House to felicitate with the governor on his achievements in such a short time in office.
Uchella said the association was a stakeholder in the development of the state as they consistently offered good suggestions for quality governance.
He, however, regretted that federal workers in the state were not accorded recognition unlike their state counterparts.
The leader said that workers in the state were faced with some challenges which militated against their services.
Uchella appealed to the governor to assist the association and individual members to get decent accommodations. NAN
