The Nigerian Army has announced that troops from 3 Division/Operation Safe Haven neutralized several bandits during an operation in Southern Kaduna, Kaduna State.
In a statement posted on its official X (formerly Twitter) handle on Thursday, the Army revealed that the operation, conducted on Wednesday, also led to the rescue of 25 kidnapped victims and the recovery of various items, including hard drugs such as tramadol, energy drinks, and clothing materials.
The operation, code-named Operation Golden Peace, was designed to secure the ongoing harvest season and ensure peaceful yuletide celebrations in the Joint Operations Area.
According to the Army, troops carried out intelligence-driven offensive operations at several locations in Kauru Local Government Area, including Ruwan Sanye, Randa, Rafin Gora, Libere Gari, and Libere Makaranta.
During the operation, an illegal clinic used by bandits to treat their injured members was also uncovered.
The Army stated that the affected areas have been cleared and that further operations are underway to track down fleeing bandits.
“3 Division/Operation Safe Haven remains committed to ensuring the security of lives and property within the Joint Operations Area,” the statement read.
The military urged the public to continue supporting security agencies by providing timely intelligence to help eliminate criminal elements in the region.
