The Nigerian Army has issued a stern warning to the Okuama community in Delta State, urging them to prepare to face the full consequences of their actions.
This warning comes in the wake of the killing of soldiers who were on a peaceful and mediatory mission following a communal clash between the Okuama and Okoloba communities.
In a statement signed by Major-General Onyema Nwachukwu, the Director of Army Public Relations, the Army criticized the Okuama community for resorting to propaganda instead of assisting in identifying and apprehending the perpetrators.

The statement condemned the killing of troops from the 181 Amphibious Battalion of the Nigerian Army, describing it as despicable and worthy of condemnation by all.
The soldiers, committed to maintaining peace and security in the Niger Delta Region, were brutally murdered by an armed youth gang from the Okuama Community.
The Army expressed regret over the community’s alleged complicity in the crime and their subsequent attempts to manipulate public opinion through propaganda.
Major-General Nwachukwu emphasized that the Army would not be swayed by such tactics and that the perpetrators must face justice.
While assuring law-abiding citizens that there would be no reprisal attacks, the Army reiterated its commitment to identifying and bringing the criminals to justice.
The Chief of Army Staff, Lt Gen Toareed Lagbaja, has directed that every effort be made to apprehend the perpetrators and ensure they face the full wrath of the law.
The Army’s statement concluded by warning that there is no hiding place for the criminals, and they will be brought to justice.
