BENIN (Nigerian Institution of Surveyors)
“Nigerian Surveyors are to partner with agencies to address the paucity of spatial information in the Nigerian economic and development planning matrix.”
This was revealed by the immediate past President of the Nigerian Institution of Surveyors, Bode Adeaga (Surveyor) while addressing NIS members in Benin, Edo State towards the election of new executive members.
He said that the world and Nigeria in particular are facing daunting challenges from the environment. Adding, the situation demands that professionals should do the basic and right things first to be able to erect the infrastructure and structures that would guarantee sustainable development and safe society.
Bode Adeaga stated that the Surveyors have commenced collaboration in the on-going relationship with the Presidential Technical Committee on Land Reforms regarding its mandate to deliver land titles to all land owners in Nigeria. Adding, this is with a view to empowering them by turning their seemingly dead capital to such assets that can be utilized to access capital for investments.
He noted that every battle will be fought and won based on superior intelligence and that there is need to connect and collaborate with security agencies towards addressing security challenges in Nigeria.
