Elections postponed? It was the fear from many and a prediction from most, but INEC has come out to clear the air.
As several newsmen kept their eyes open at INEC’s headquarters in Abuja, Rotimi Oyekanmi, the chief press secretary to INEC’s chairman, Professor Mahmood Yakubu, made the newsmen aware that the commission had reached a concensus after a key meeting attended by the chairman and 12 national commissioners.
Clear reasons for any possible postpnement would be the technical blows INEC faced few days to D Day as per election materials being destroyed in some state which may have affected its preparations for the conduct of the elections.
Mr. Rotimi Oyekanmi, the chief press secretary to INEC’s chairman recently said to journalists, “A decision has been taken, but you’d have to hear from the horse’s mouth.”
We wait.
