Founder of the NNPP, Dr. Boniface Aniebonam, appraised Tinubu’s administration over the past year, acknowledging that the President was aware of the country’s crises before taking power.
Aniebonam told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that the President’s “Renewed Hope Agenda” was conceived in recognition of these challenges.
“Members of the NNPP believe that a great leader is one who makes decisions, even wrong ones, rather than taking none on urgent state matters,” Aniebonam said.

“The President is human and may have made some wrong decisions, like removing the corruption-infested oil subsidy without planning for its effects, but it will be beneficial in the long run.”
Aniebonam emphasized that this is a time for all Nigerians to be determined, work hard, and make sacrifices for the country’s good.
According to him, Tinubu and his cabinet have moved Nigeria from the intensive care unit to the general ward, signifying hope for the nation’s future greatness.
“The greatness of Nigeria is in the hands of Nigerians,” he continued.
“To achieve this, we must enhance productivity in education, rule of law, science and technology, agriculture, industrialization, and eliminate corruption and public disorder.”
Aniebonam urged that this is not the time to blame the government but to provide constructive and respectful criticism.
He called for advising and encouraging the President, as well as the leadership of the legislative and judicial branches, to ensure their actions benefit the general welfare of Nigerians.
“Political patronage should be handled in a way that supports the mantra of renewed hope for Nigeria,” Aniebonam concluded.
