Sen. Ita Enang, has told Nigerians that the Federal Government has not forgotten existing laws against defamation, libel, sedition and other related matters.
Enang in a statement by his Media Aide, Essien Inyang on Monday in Abuja, said the directive was only a plea for proper enforcement of existing laws to avoid anarchy in the country.
“No new law has been made. The federal government was simply restating the position and content of an existing broadcast code.
“No new law, else it would have been passed by the National Assembly and assented to by the president. The law on defamation and others have been in existence.’’
