A chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Idris Kalgo, has claimed that President Bola Tinubu has lost the support of Northern Nigeria.
Kalgo also expressed optimism that the ADC would unseat the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 general elections.
He made the remarks on Saturday while fielding questions during an interview on Trust TV, monitored by newsmen, where he spoke on the party’s preparations for the polls.

“We are actually happy at the ADC because February 20, 2027 is the date when Nigerians will decide. And it’s also going to be a date whereby we are going to throw out the APC government,” Kalgo said.
He alleged that the President’s support base in the North has dwindled significantly.
“Tinubu has practically lost support from the North. The North doesn’t like him anymore. The only people from the North who are still with him are his ministers and appointees. They only tell him what he wants to hear,” he added.
Kalgo urged the President to conduct independent assessments to gauge public opinion.
“He can send them as investigators to go underground to make research and survey. He will get to know that Nigerians are no longer with him. They are tired of him,” he said.
