The Caretaker Committee Chairman of Obio/Akpor Local Government Council, Dr Lawrence Chukwu has called on Royal Fathers, Chiefs, Women, Youth, and Indigenes without borders living in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area to be security conscious. He made the call at the Stakeholders meeting held at the council headquarters, Rumuodomaya recently. Dr. chukwu pointed out that the meeting was the first since his assumption of office as Chairman of the council, adding that it was meant to intimate the traditional rulers of the inauguration of a new government in the area, assuring that normalcy has been restored to enable workers discharge their responsibilities without fear of molestation.
He called on the people to be wary of politicians who cause problems by creating divisive tendencies that encourage insecurity and solicited for the support of the people to ensure the success of his administration and that of Governor Amaechi.
Responding, the Chairman of Obio/Akpor council of traditional rulers who is the paramount ruler of Akpor kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Eze Anele Agbaraka Orlu Oriebe commended the Council Chairman for his developmental strides and appealed to politicians to play by the rules in the interest of the society, pledging the support of the traditional rulers to ensure peaceful co-existence in the area.
On his part the chairman, All Progressive Congress (APC) in the Local Government, Mr Solomon Ikegwuru stressed the need for peace in the area appealing to the traditional rulers to complement Government efforts in strengthening the bond of brotherhood in the area.
In their goodwill messages, the Paramount Ruler of Oginigba Kingdom, Eze Garshion Odum, the President General of Rivers Leadership Advance Forum (RIVLEAF), Chief Weli Alex Weli, the Leaders of indigenes without Borders, Dr William Obaka, Onu Igalla and Alhaji Suleiman Hassein Pledged their Support For the Local Government Administration, Governor and the All Progressive Congress (APC) in the State.
