The good people of Ogere Remo in Ogun State of Nigeria trooped out enmass yesterday to witness and actively participate in the 43rd Lipakala Day celebrations of the community held at Wesley Primary School Playground on Saturday, November 16, 2019.

Among the highlights of the occasion was the presentation of Community Service Awards to deserving sons and daughters of the town who have contributed in no small measure to the all round development of Ogere.
Among those honoured was Omooba Sunday Solarin FCA. Omooba Solarin’s recognition was in respect of his immense contributions to the human capital development of the people of Ogere Remo, the physical development of the town and greater good of the community at large.
Other awardees included Otunba Ranti Koiki, Mr Oluremi Adeleye, Alhaji Sulaimon Balogun.
Solarin, a worthy son of Ogere Remo and a graduate of Accounting, Obafemi Awolowo University, is a Fellow of the noble Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, ICAN.
He is the Managing Partner, Master Planners Associates, Managing Partner, Sunday Solarin & Co (Chartered Accountants), Managing Partner, BENASS Consulting Limited and Visiting Lecturer, Babcock University Accounting Department.
Solarin is also a prominent politician in Ogun State. He was Chairman, Peoples Democratic Party, Ikenne Local Government, Supervisor for Education, IKLG, State Coordinator, Otunba Gbenga Daniel Campaign Office, Consultant on Budget/Financial Matters to IKLG, Board Member, Gateway Oil & Gas Limited and currently the Secretary General, Ladi Adebutu Development Organisation.
Omooba Solarin, a philanthropist, has continually used his influence to bring positive development to the community.
No doubt, no award is greater than the one given by the people of one’s community.
Organisations that also received awards for excellent community responsibility included Animal Care Konsult Services Nigeria Limited, Process Wood Products and Materials Association of Nigeria and Kensington Adebukuola Adebutu Foundation, KAAF.
