In a bid to ensure public safety, improve hygiene, and enhance traffic flow, the Ogun State Government has cleared roadside traders operating around the Kara cattle market near Ojodu Berger.
The Special Adviser to the Governor on the Ogun State Environmental Protection Agency (OGEPA), Farouk Akintunde, announced the development on Wednesday, stating that the operation was part of the government’s broader effort to promote a more organized and hygienic trading environment.
Akintunde, who also chairs the Ogun State Task Force on Environmental Compliance and Enforcement, said the initiative would not only improve public health and safety but also boost the aesthetic appeal of the area.

“The state government is determined to enhance the overall aesthetic appeal of the Kara cattle market and ensure there is a free flow of vehicular traffic,” he said.
He encouraged traders to relocate to designated market areas, emphasizing that the state government remains committed to creating a conducive business environment while safeguarding the well-being of its citizens.
The Kara cattle market, located along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, is regarded as the largest of its kind in the South-West region.
Akintunde urged residents and traders to support the government’s efforts to maintain environmental order and public safety.
