Aftermath of Hon (Dr) Ladi Adebutu’s emergence on September 27, 2018, as the gubernatorial candidate of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogun State for 2019 general elections, the expectations of the people have increased tremendously.
They are eager for a change of government in the state. They are hopeful for a return of PDP to power. They are impatient for the return of buoyant economy as exemplified during PDP glorious era of Otunba Gbenga Daniel. They desire a quality living away from the current agonising period of retrogression and poverty of the APC government without human face.
From Yewa North to Ijebu East, from Sagamu to Odeda, from Ipokia to Abeokuta North, from Ijebu Ode to Abeokuta South, from Ijebu North to Ogun Waterside, from Ikenne to Obafemi Owode, from Ifo to Remo North, from Imeko Afon to Yewa South, from Ewekoro to Ado Odo Ota and from Ijebu North East to Odogbolu, the song is the same. It is a tune of the people waiting for liberation from the clutches of poverty and misrule.

The billionaire businessman clearly observed in his speech the ugly affairs in the state ” Our dear Ogun State is in dire need of urgent surgical rescue in view of the retrogression that have been witnessed in the last few years. A most cynical and retrogressive mode of politics and governance has become entrenched in the last 7 years in our dear state. The financially disadvantaged and the vulnerable are more marginalised, traditional institutions have been desecrated, the middle class decimated, businesses and investors have been scared away and our common patrimony recklessly mismanaged.”
Adebutu’s comment is a pointer to the fact that he sees it all and understands the position of things in the gateway state having lived virtually his entire life in the state. He has equally traversed all the 20 local governments in the state and visited over 400 communities and 30 major markets and so on. He experienced, firsthand, the pains, agonies and expectations of the people. He concluded that a need for emergency operation was needed to make the people breath fresh air.

As such, there can be no escape from the reality on ground which stares us in the face. The reality is quite obvious and unacceptable to Hon Ladi Adebutu is on a mission and as he equally stated is ready to come to Macedonia to help.
” _We must leave this wilderness of underdevelopment and move to the oasis of peace, good governance and rapid development of our dear State.
With your support and the mandate of our people, a government headed by me shall with the utmost urgency undertake and provide high quality, sustainable infrastructure across the state while innovative sources of funding these critical assets shall be developed.”_
To achieve these stated objectives, Adebutu tabled a 10-point intervention agenda. In subsequent releases, each of these points of developmental interest will be addressed.
