The Ogun State Police Command has detained several officers for allegedly demanding money from the family of a missing girl before taking action on the case.
The Force Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi, disclosed this via his X handle on Saturday, confirming that the officers are in custody and facing disciplinary procedures.
“The policemen who demanded money before attending to the case have been arrested and are now in detention for disciplinary action,” Adejobi wrote.

He assured the public of the police’s commitment to finding the missing girl, urging her family to cooperate with the ongoing investigation.
“The Ogun State Police Command is actively working on the case. The girl will be found as soon as possible,” he added.
Adejobi also reiterated a warning to officers against using the name of the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, for fraudulent activities and encouraged the public to report such incidents.
