Old CPC Members In Ekiti State Dump All Progressive Congress To Labour Party

Scores of the defunct members of the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) yesterday dumped the All Progressive Congress and merged with the Labour Party in Ekiti State.
    .
Speaking with the newsmen in Ado Ekiti yesterday , the ex-CPC Chairman in the State, Babatunde Ajayi alleged sidelining and marginalisation of his members by the leadership of the APC Interim Committee in the State since the consummation of the merger in 2013.
    .
It may be recalled that the defunct Action Congress of Nigeria, All Nigeria’s People’s Party and CPC had last year fused into one to be able to present a formidable opposition to the Peoples Democratic Party.
    .
Ajayi, who in the midst of other former Local Government executives of the party spoke with newsmen added that members of the defunct CAN had been treating other merging parties with much disdain and contempt. He added that some of his members had earlier staged a protest in Ado Ekiti shortly after the merger, which was later resolved with the intervention of Governor Kayode Fayemi, whom he said gave the assurance that all the wrongs to his members, would be addressed.
