Gary Lineker recently made fun of Paul Ince on live TV over his comments about Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s positive effect at Manchester United.
Months back, Ince admitted he was unsure about Solskjaer’s arrival and claimed ‘anyone’ could have had a positive impact on the players following Jose Mourinho’s terrible reign at Old Trafford.
His words, ‘I could have gone in and done the same thing, so could Steve Bruce,’
‘Anyone could have gone in and done what he has done, it wasn’t a hard thing to do to give those players freedom and improve the mood.’
But before United’s FA Cup clash with Wolves on Saturday, Lineker seized the chance to remind Ince, who was working as a pundit for the BBC, about his views.
His words, ‘A lot has been said about what Solskjaer has done but anyone could have done it couldn’t they, Paul?’
Lineker’s comment amused Alan Shearer and Ian Wright, while Ince broke down his comments. ‘No, he has [done a good job] to be fair,’
‘As I said before and I’ll stick by it, at the start of it because things were so bad at Manchester United it wasn’t hard to change things around.
‘But what he’s done is taken it to another level.
‘Performances have gone bigger and bigger, and you can tell by his team today he wants to win a trophy.’
